Privacy Policy

Monke Reset helps you quit porn. It is built so that what you tell it stays on your phone. We have no server, no accounts, and no copy of it.

Who we are

Monke Reset is made and operated by Ajay E R, an independent app developer based in India, who is the data controller for the limited information described below. You can reach us at any time at hello@makebolt.com. A postal address is available on request.

What stays on your phone

These stay on your device and are never sent to us:

• Your name and every answer you give in the app.
• Your reasons, your pledge, and the signature you draw.
• Your streak, check-ins, relapses, plan, and achievements.
• Your blocker settings and the apps and sites you block.
• Your reminder times and preferences. Reminders are scheduled on your phone.

There is no sign-in and we never ask for your email. To erase it all from the app, use Settings › Delete everything, or delete the app. Delete everything also turns the blocker off and gives the app a new random analytics ID. Your subscription stays and can be restored.

Monke Blocker and Screen Time

On iPhone, Monke Blocker uses Apple's Screen Time, and only after you allow it. It can turn on the adult-content filter built into iOS and shield the apps and sites you pick in Apple's own picker. Apple does the blocking on your phone. The app never learns which sites you visit and does not record your app usage or browsing. When a site you blocked is shielded, iOS shows its name on our shield screen, on your phone only. Nothing about the blocker is sent to us or to any service.

What we collect

Usage events. So we can see where people get stuck, the app sends a few events to PostHog, our analytics provider: which onboarding steps you reach, that the app was opened, and how the paywall and purchases go. They are tied to a random ID made on your phone and carry basic device details: model, system version, screen size, language, time zone, and app version. They never include your answers, your streak count, your reasons, or anything you block or browse. Versions before 1.1 also send a bare note when you start your reset or reset your streak, with no count or reason; updating the app stops it. You can switch usage events off at any time in Settings › Share usage data.

Paywall and subscription tests. We may show different versions of the paywall or offer, for example a different design, price, or a plan with or without a free trial. The version is picked at random, never from your answers.

Crash reports. When the app crashes, freezes, or hits an error, a report goes to Sentry so we can fix it. It holds the error, the screens you passed through just before, a random installation ID, and device details such as model, system, language, memory, and app version. Each launch also sends Sentry a short session record so we know how often the app runs without crashing. Versions before 1.1 also send timing data from some sessions, and recent taps and network requests with each report. Sentry's personal-data collection is off. Share usage data does not affect crash reports.

Subscriptions. RevenueCat handles purchases. It keeps your subscription status and purchase history under a random ID, which lets you restore a purchase on a new phone, and it chooses which paywall you see. RevenueCat also reports subscription and paywall activity to our PostHog account under random identifiers. Share usage data does not stop these reports; write to us to object or to have them deleted.

App updates. The app checks Expo's servers for updates. Each check sends your platform, the app version and update, a random installation ID, and, if the app failed to start last time, that error.

YouTube. The library's podcast episodes are YouTube videos. Their thumbnails load from YouTube once the app's main screens open, and opening an episode loads YouTube's player through a small page hosted on GitHub, even before you press play. Google and GitHub then receive your IP address and device details under their own privacy policies (Google, GitHub).

Your IP address reaches each of these services, as with any internet request. We never use it to look up where you are, and PostHog is set to discard it; addresses it stored before 30 September 2026 follow the usage data retention below.

Service providers

• PostHog: usage events and RevenueCat's reports (United States).
• Sentry: crash reports (United States).
• RevenueCat: subscriptions and paywalls (United States).
• Expo: app updates (United States).
• Apple, Google, and GitHub: payments, app distribution, Screen Time, YouTube, and the player page, under their own privacy policies.

PostHog, Sentry, RevenueCat, and Expo process data only to provide their service to us, and are bound by contract to give it the same or equal protection as this policy. Where data leaves the UK, the EEA, or another country that restricts transfers, we rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (with the UK addendum) that these providers offer, or on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified under it.

Legal basis

Where the law requires one (for example the GDPR or UK GDPR):

• Usage events, and RevenueCat's reports and paywall tests: our legitimate interest in improving the app and the paywall. You can object with the toggle or by writing to us.
• Crash reports and app updates: our legitimate interest in an app that works.
• Subscriptions: performing our contract with you, and legal duties such as tax records.
• Podcasts: our legitimate interest in showing the episodes you open.

You don't have to provide any of this. Without purchase data we can't sell you a subscription.

How long we keep things

• On your phone: until you delete it. We hold no copy.
• Usage events and RevenueCat's reports in PostHog: up to 24 months.
• Crash reports: up to 90 days.
• Subscription records at RevenueCat: for the life of the subscription, then as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Update checks at Expo: under Expo's Privacy Policy.

Your choices and rights

• Share usage data: switch it off in Settings to stop usage events. Versions before 1.1 turn it back on after Delete everything.
• Delete everything: erases the app's data on your phone.
• Email requests: write to hello@makebolt.com to access or delete the data above. We have no account to look you up by, so tell us your device model, time zone, and roughly when you used the app, or send the order ID from your App Store or Google Play receipt. We reply within one month.

Depending on where you live, you also have the right to correct, restrict, or port your data, to object, and to complain to your data protection authority.

No ads, no tracking, no selling

The app shows no ads, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not use the advertising identifier. We never sell or share your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

18+ only

Monke Reset is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. If you believe a child has used it, write to us and we will delete what we can identify.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we post the new version here with a new effective date, and we note material changes in the App Store release notes.
